Sweet Sensations: Global Dessert Wine Collection

We know dessert wines aren’t the most popular pick on the shelf, but we think they are a great way to end a meal - whether you’re in the mood for a taste sensation but don’t have room for the soufflé or if you’re looking to pair your sticky toffee pudding with a wine that can stand up to it.

Our dessert wine pack offers you a selection of different Australian and New Zealand styles while offering you the luxury of sampling some sweet Hungarian and French wines to expand your knowledge of this underrated style.

From New Zealand, we bring you drops from Greywacke and Misha’s vineyard, from opposite ends of the mainland. The Greywacke offers up concentrated honeyed apricots with brioche - a fruity and flavourful Pinot Gris, while the Cadenza from Misha’s vineyard is a late harvest Gewurtztraminer and shows candy floss and tropical fruits with an indulgent finish.

Going to the west, our Australian choices are the Yalumba FSW Botrytis Viognier with honeysuckle, musk and vanilla leading into stone fruits, and the De Bortoli Noble One with fruit zest, nougat and vanilla from its time in French oak.

This pack also gives us a chance to try some famed Hungarian Tokaji (fun wine fact: Tokaj is a village, Tokaji is the wine region), a vibrant and fresh wine that feels light and refreshing in the mouth. Our Sauternes offering is a Mouton Cadet, a generous reserve Sauternes with notes of stewed stone fruits (peaches, apricots) and a mineral finish.

Whether you’re in the mood for some cheese and wine (I am now!), or if you just want to continue swapping stories after a meal, we think that dessert wines offer a great excuse to spend more time together after a great meal with friends or family.
