2021 Chard Farm Vipers Pinot Noir

Single vineyard wine from a single block, known as the Grandstand. This block is within the Viper vineyard - no, not referring to an abundance of snakes but actually this name refers to the wildflower "Vipers Bugloss" that covers the area nearby. 

The soil here is predominantly sandy loam over a red clay and schist. The wine benefits from a diurnal shift in this section as there are moderating factors that cool down daytime temperatures - resulting in an extended ripening season.

The wine exudes an aromatic and vibrant bouquet, showcasing notes of red cherry, pomegranate, and delicate, freshly bloomed florals. Fresh red fruit notes and herbal undertones rest on a foundation of silky tannins, evolving into a refined and enduring finish. Pronounced mineral nuances and acidity harmonize to create an invigorating and confident balance.
