2021 Chard Farm Masons Vineyard Pinot Noir

Masons Pinot Noir is a single vineyard wine from the Parkburn sub-region of Central Otago. It's known for having frost-free and north-facing slopes. This vineyard's unique landscape was shaped by ancient Central Otago glaciers. 

The wine is largely made up of Abel Clone (the famous gumboot clone), with parcels thriving on the steep "O" block on soils of paedogenic lime and clay. Small portions of Clone 777 and 667 from the same site are blended to enhance tannin and weight. 

Tasting Note:
A rich bouquet of black cherry, plum and spice. The vein of ripe fruit continues into the mouth coating the palate along with generous and velvety tannins. Building in intensity at the back of the palate where the fruit, spice and mineral flavours linger on a wonderfully long and detailed finish.
