Daniel Brennan was living in Philadelphia when he discovered a passion for drinking NZ wines. He developed a vision for creating his own New Zealand wines and left behind a career in the entertainment industry to move down here to the southern hemisphere and establish himself as a winemaker in Aotearoa.
With a pioneering spirit and a clear mission to make wine he would drink himself, he built relationships with growers in Hawkes Bay and Martinborough to source wonderful grapes from which he creates wines with a classical approach and minimal intervention. Over time, he’s managed to ensure that his grapes come from certified sustainable vineyards; but not content with this, he is now on a mission with his growers to transition his whole range to being produced from certified organic vineyards.
If you’re not sure what to buy, we would recommend trying the 4 different Malbecs: Giunta, Decibel, Testify and the Malbec Pet Nat (yes, sparkling red), then try a bottle of the crunchy red (an interesting but delicious mix of Pinot Noir, Malbec and Merlot!), and why not throw a Testify Chardonnay in for good measure!
Now I’m thirsty just thinking about it!
